Facebook joins Mobile10X to Develop App Ecosystem & Boost App Economy in India

Facebook has joined the Mobile10X program in India, an initiative by Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) to boost the app ecosystem. 

The programme by IAMAI aims to make India a Global App Superpower over the next 5 years through positively intervening at every stage of the App development life cycle and increasing the pool of high quality app developers in India from 50,000 to 5,00.000 in 5 years. This program will develop the foundation for Indian developers to build high quality app's and increase App revenue by 10X for the Indian Internet Industry.

Elaborating on this initiative, Satyajeet Singh, Product Partnerships, Facebook Indiasaid, “As millions of Indians continue to experience the internet for the first time on their mobile devices, it is not just affordability but also relevant services that will deliver value and keep them engaged. We are excited to be part of the Mobile10x initiative and look forward to supporting Indian developers to build products for the next billion people coming online.”

State Governments have begun recognizing the importance of supporting Developers and enabling the App Economy. Mobile10x already has two incubators in Bangalore & Hyderabad, and one more is coming up in Gurugram, while talks are on with two more states.

• Provide special emphasis to support Women Entrepreneurs

• Guide the next generation of Indian App developers to develop Apps for India. (Focus on Tier-2/3 cities, Solving rural challenges, localisation, developing for low bandwidth and low cost handsets

• Support Workshops, Hackathons and Campus out-reach activities organized by Mobile10X
