Facebook levels up for World Emoji Day

Every month, billions of people across the globe use Facebook and Messenger to connect with their family, friends and communities - sometimes those connections come in emoji form! Emojis add color and vibrancy to our chats, and we rely on them to say what words can’t. Ahead of World Emoji Day on Saturday, 17 July, we would like to share some fun stats:

In addition, Messenger is launching Soundmojis today. This is a new feature that enables users to send short sound clips in Messenger chat. Users will be able to choose from a library of options that range from sound effects (crickets , clapping , drumroll , and evil laughter ) to popular song clips. Each sound is sent as an emoji (no words), providing surprising delights through culturally-relevant audio clips.
