Facebook offers more features & engagement

Those who visited their Facebook page today morning, would have witnessed that Facebook has introduced a new feature. One can now prioritise friends and pages on newsfeed. Content from these would show up in the feed. It is being seen as a great feature for those who prefer to scroll through their FB page on mobile.

While the new functionality is available on desktops and iOS, it would be there on Android shortly.

Users’ engagement levels would definitely be higher when they scroll through the content they have prioritised on the top. Would it then lead to a change in ad sales strategy too, remains to be seen. Perhaps the advertisers would have to shell out larger amount if they want their video/ad to appear in that part of the newsfeed.

In another development Facebook has also shut down its Creative Labs section and removed the apps created under its umbrella from app stores.

The company, as is known has shown keen interest in virtual reality and beaming the Internet across the globe through drone initiative.
