Facebook's Reactions are now one year old

Every day, people come to Facebook to discover what’s happening around them and to share with their communities, whether their updates are happy, sad, funny or thought-provoking.

News Feed is your personalized hub of information where you can get updates about your friends, family and anything else that matters to you, and the central place to have conversations with the people you care about.

On February 24th 2016, Facebook enhanced our conversations by implementing Reactions. Now, joining the famous “Like” button, was a “Love”, “Haha”, “Wow”, “Sad” and “Angry” reaction to share on Friends' posts. Reactions have allowed us to demonstrate a range of expressions and show Friends how we really feel on Facebook - in a way that is quick, easy to understand, and fun.

It's been one year since we could do more than “Like” a friend’s post, and in that time, there have been a total of 300 billion reactions on posts to date. We have also analyzed and are now able to share the most commonly used reactions and the times/places they are used most, providing insight about how Facebook's more than 1.8 billion users express themselves on Facebook and beyond.
