Facebook To Host The Inaugural Thumbstoppers Summit

On October 9th, Facebook will host the inaugural Thumbstoppers Summit, which will bring together leaders from the marketing, advertising, and creative industries to connect, celebrate, and be inspired by creativity in mobile video advertising. The Summit, which will be held in Mumbai, is the biggest platform to date in Asia for creativity in mobile video advertising. It will serve as the grand finale for the ‘Thumbstoppers' program, which was launched in May, and aims to inspire, educate, and challenge the creative ecosystem with powerful storytelling for video ads in less than 10 seconds.

The Summit will also be the concluding event for Thumbstoppers Challenge, a key part of the Thumbstoppers program. The Thumbstoppers Challenge invited members of the creative and advertising community to submit their short-form video stories, with the aim of helping the creative community build for mobile as a medium, rather than edit for it. The Challenge saw 3500+ entries that were received from across the country by brands, agencies, and creative professionals.

The summit will for the first time have a special screening of the top 17+ winners’ films from the Thumbstoppers Challenge. The top winner from each category wins a trip to Cannes Lions in 2020.

The event will be attended by Facebook’s key partners on the Thumbstoppers initiative - Chief Creative Officers of the country’s top agencies, and senior executives from the country’s top brands like Nestle and Unilever, who are also on the jury for the Thumbstoppers Challenge. Also present at the summit will be top executives from Facebook.

Key highlights of the event will include keynote speeches and panel discussions by stalwarts of the industry, and explore concepts such as ‘Reimagining Storytelling: How can you infiltrate popular culture and stay relevant at scale?, Winning Consumers with Video, Brands in Culture: Thumbstop to future proof creativity.
