Feature | Is it a smartphone or a 'Smart' Phone???

The era has changed!!! Today its about Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp..!! We have gradually moved on from calls to texting. Smart phones today have become the most important aspect of youngsters and its all about being "young' and "smart'! Today a phone can do everything from internet browsing to social media apps. The last few months have been a shift towards smart phones from, both youth and brands. This makes it certain that increasing demands would probably force a brand to venture out and come up with amazing "smart' products.

Brands like Nokia recently launched amazing range of smartphones, HTC who has also shifted its focus towards the same, Blackberry which was known for "Business phones' has now swinged towards low-priced, youth-centric phones.

Keeping this shift in mind, we at Adgully spoke to a few noted brands to know more about this growing inclination and the fire-like trend.

Manu Seth, Country Manager Marketing, HTC India, said, "Today, for Indian youth, a cell phone is not a fashion accessory but a tool to stay socially connected with the world. It is definitely a paradigm shift supported by the internet penetration through browsing with the intention of encouraging our youth to walk along with Smartphone's. To actively socialize with their friends youth today use cell phones to interact with the world, excess music and entertainment on a finger click and update their lives through the magic spread by Smartphone's."

Prashanth Mani, Regional General Manager (West), Nokia India, holds an opinion that, "It is basically how you locate the way consumers are today. They want everything from a phone. They want a device in which they can listen to music; seamlessly stay connected with their friends and family. They want something where they can stay surrounded with apps, games, features etc.

Mani further added, "It is a combination of all the three; digital, mobile and online. There is a digital as well as internet aspect to it. So as we go along, mobile penetration and 3G would be at a roll; it also about changing trends since consumers are getting into more and more "smart' features and looks."

Explaining the increasing inclination further, Manu further said, "We are delighted to unveil the TVC for the popular HTC Explorer handset in India. The insight for the launch came out from the fact that the youth of today is tech savvy and prefers keeping in touch with friends and peers through social media websites, chats, and mails. Our main objective is to communicate that HTC Explorer helps achieve all this through the magic of your fingers."
