Flipkart ropes in Sudhir Sitapati as its advisory member

Sudhir Sitapati vice-president who oversees the tea, coffee and ice-cream categories across South Asia and Africa of Unilever has been roped in by Flipkart as one of the advisory board members. He will be a part of Flipkart as one of the first four members who have been taken on board to mentor as well as be a part of the advisory board for its commerce platform.

This platform is being created to steer  the organizatioin  in the right direction and to manage the fast paced growth of the Company. While the advisory structure has been structered  in a flexible manner  creating a more comfortable setting for the board members so that the company can seek strategic advice from the members in an informal manner.

Sitaram a graduate from IIM-Ahmedabad will be managing both the portfolios as he will continue with his current position at Unilever while serving as an advisor to Flipkart.

Flipkart has been facing stiff competition from a number of other players in the online Retail space. So in the process to strengthen the core of the company, it is roping in advisors with skills in leadership strategy, technology and operations. Only Sudhir Sitapati has been identified so far the rest advisory members will be picked in the coming years.
