FM Auction: Delhi bidding goes Rs 100 Cr plus

Adgully.com, like many others is trying to find out what are the FM stations seeing in Delhi that is amiss in Mumbai. An analysis of this however, can be done once the Phase 3, First batch auctions are over and results announced.

As of now, at the end of Day five and 20 rounds of bidding, provisional winning price for Delhi reached 1,05,23,19,025 with there still being two bidders for the single radio station. It is more than three times its reserve price of Rs 31.42 Crore. As for Mumbai, which had one bidder in the foray on day 4 for its 2 channels, once again has two bidders in the foray.

As per the I&B official communique, at the close of the fifth day of bidding, 80 channels in 55 cities became provisionally winning channels with cumulative provisional winning price of around Rs 714 crore against their aggregate reserve price of about Rs 391 Crore. It is 29.71 %. Higher than the total reserve price of the first batch (Rs 550.18 Crore).

As is known, the first batch auction for phase 3 is being held for 135 FM Channels in 69 existing cities of Phase II. Till now, 20 rounds of bidding are over.

When it comes to aggregate demand at Round 20 price, cities which have no demand include: Ajmer, Asansol, Cochin, Gulbarga, Hisar, Jamshedpur, Jodhpur, Karnal, Kota, Madurai, Mangalore, Mysore, Puducherry, Rajahmundri, Shillong, Sholapur, Siliguri, Surat, Tiruchi, Tirunelveli, Tirupati, Tuticorin, Udaipur, Varanasi, Vijaywada, Tirunelveli.

Many other towns and cities also have a demand deficit.
