Ford (India) to launch "Figo', phasing out "Fusion'

Ford ' a US car maker, yesterday day, clearly said that with the launch of its small car "Figo' it will phase out its hatchback "Fusion' from the Indian market.

Ford (India) comprises over 70 per cent of the Indian car market that is heading towards the 2 million mark per year.

As per media reports, Michael Boneham, President and MD, Ford (India) on the launch of Figo and phasing out of Fusion said, "We will discontinue the Fusion...The car was anyway giving us relatively small volumes."

Boneham added, "The Company has aggressive plans regarding Figo and it will be competitively priced. With its launch we are to be benchmarked against key competitors. The car will have 85 per cent of its components sourced locally," as per media reports. However, the compact car segment is currently ruled by - Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Tata Motors.
