Mansi Tripathy, a business leader with more than 17 years of experience in the areas of marketing strategy and brand building has spent about 15 years of her career at Procter and Gamble across various roles and brands. Some significant ones include leading CMK (Consumer and Market Knowledge) function for Global Shave Care (Gillette, Venus, Art of Shaving) and brand building on diverse product categories like Pantene, H&S, Olay, SKII, Vicks, Gillette, Pampers, Whisper, Ariel, Tide, Crest, Gillette, Braun and Pringles.

Apart from being a remarkable marketer, Tripathy loves travelling as well. Among her long any-time-visits, Key West, Florida-USA stands tall. She believes that travelling not only opens your mind to new possibilities but gives an opportunity to appreciate nature and ultimate creator and the share the feeling of being thankful for all you have.

Fox Traveller Diaries caught up with Mansi Tripathy, Chief Marketing Officer, Shell Lubricants India to unwind her experience as a traveller. 

Fox Traveller Diaries (FTD): If there is one place you can keep going back to for a holiday, where would it be?
Mansi Tripathy (MT):
Key West, Florida-USA, for the right combination of weather, beauty and attitude of the place

FTD: Tell us three good things about travelling.

MT: Three good things are: Opens your mind to new possibilities, Appreciation of nature and ultimate creator and Thankfulness for all you have.

FTD: When you travel, what is a must carry for you?
MT: Camera – to capture as much hues as possible

FTD: When and where did your best holiday happen?
MT: Venice, 2008

FTD: As a traveler, what’s your tip for the others?
MT: Have a travel check list made, one of things you need for your travel (especially with family) so that you there are no regrets of carrying something needed to make the holiday special.

FTD: Have you ever been surprised by the taste of food, outside India? Where?
MT: Octopus in Australia

FTD: What and where has been your best bazaar bargain so far?
MT: Spice Bazzar in Turkey Istanbul—we bought a hand painted plate for 5% of original quote.

FTD: Which has been the most unique destination that you ever visited. When and why?
MT: Ladhak, Leh for all that you read could just not match with what you saw and experienced.

FTD: Tell us how you have managed to make a journey fun.
MT: Doing as the locals do and living life in their style

FTD: A gourmet gaffe that you would like to share.
MT: Snake blood drinking ritual in most expensive restaurant in Guangzhou, China

FTD: What has been your worst travel moment? Why?
MT: Not knowing exact address of place to go on landing in Brazil with no phone or internet access….

FTD: What is the best souvenir you ever bought for anyone?
MT: Stone for my mother from the historic “Ashok Vatika” in Sri Lanka where Sita lived when held hostage by Ravan.
