FreeCharge Appoints Sudeep Tandon as Chief Business Officer

FreeCharge, India’s largest online platform for recharge and utility payments today announced the appointment of Sudeep Tandon as Chief Business Officer further strengthening the senior leadership team.Based out of Mumbai, Tandon will closely work with Kunal Shah, CEO and co-founder, FreeCharge. Tandon’s appointment will enhance the corporate strategy and strategic alliances of the company.

Commenting on the appointment, Kunal Shah, CEO and co-founder, FreeCharge said that “FreeCharge is at an exciting stage post acquisition by Snapdeal and we are expanding management bandwidth to reach to next level. Tandon was key advisor during early days of FreeCharge and has deep understanding about the brand’s vision. Sudeep Tandon comes with over 8 years of experience in telecom/ technology strategy, product and business development. He has been associated with brands like – Samsung, Cisco and Cartesian in the past.Prior to FreeCharge, Sudeepwas an Engagement Manager at Cartesian, a leading telecom, media and technology (TMT) focused strategy consulting firm. At Cartesian Sudeep led several client engagements in TMT with a particular focus on solving strategic challenges for mobile network operators globally. Sudeep was also associated with Samsung’s global strategy group in South Korea, reporting directly to the Chairman’s Office.

Born in India, Sudeep holds Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Southern California. He has received his MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Sudeep is no stranger to the start-up world, having served as an advisor to several telecom/technology focused start-ups in India/Silicon Valley and being an early member of start-up incubated inside Cisco Systems. Sudeep has also held a business development role at Tandon Group.
