Gaana's CEO, Prashan Agarwal moves on

Prashan Agarwal, CEO, Gaana has called it quits with the India-based streaming company. Agarwal took to LinkedIn to announce his exit. He put up a post saying “After an amazing 5 years of leading Gaana to be the No. 1 Music streaming service in India, I am stepping down from my role as CEO and am extremely grateful to my wonderful colleagues, music industry partners and investors who put so much trust and empowerment in enabling me to deliver.” He thanked his mentors and said, “Special thanks to my mentors Satyan Gajwani and VineetJain who provided me with a platform to make such a remarkable impact to the Indian music ecosystem and bringing entertainment to more than 185 mn+ users across the world and I hope this is just the beginning.”

Agarwal joined Gaana as CEO in May 2016 and since then was responsible for the overall growth of the company. In August of 2020, Gaana even announced it had surpassed 185 million monthly active users.

Prior to Gaana, Agarwal had a stint Naukri.com as Vice President and Co-founded two companies, 19miles.com and PropTiger.com.
