Gaana's Mother's Day campaign makes India nostalgic

Gaana.com on the occasion of Mother’s Day launched its campaign – #ShowYourLove – to celebrate the unique musical bond between mothers and their children. The campaign went live for a day on May 8 only on digital platforms. To add spice to the activity, Gaana.com telecast a live event on their Facebook page, where fans sent in a dedication for their mothers and popular singing duo Armaan and Amaal sang it live.

#ShowYourLove kicked off with a Vox pop video, where dozens of young adults were interviewed and asked, “Do you remember the lullaby your mother used to sing to you?”

Music plays a pivotal role in the lives of everyone since childhood and more often than not, mothers are the first ‘Rock Stars’ that the children revere. Lullaby becomes the bedrock of a child’s life – something which comforts and soothes. People joyously sang the lullabies, exactly like their mothers, and it was most endearing to see the love they expressed towards the woman who gave them life.

This was followed by the question, whether they had ever sung a song for their mothers. Many of them hadn’t; in fact, 95 per cent of the people Gaana.com interviewed had never sung for their mothers.

Children usually express their feelings towards their mothers in a multitude of ways, but singing to them is quite rare. Gaana.com broke this norm by encouraging the participants to wish their Moms a Happy Mother’s Day, and sing for them. With this emotionally charged video,Gaana.com reached out to millions of users and inspired them to show their love to their mothers by singing.
