Gaming and Metaverse to debut at Cannes Lions 2023

Game and metaverse will debut at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity in 2023, which will take place in France between June 19 and 23.
This year's "Entertainment Lion for Gaming" category celebrates creative work connecting people to brands through gameplay.
With the inclusion of the buzzy Metaverse, the organizers have expanded the category of “New Realities and Emerging Tech”. Metaverse is a creative application of immersive experiences that push the boundaries of technology.
As the gaming ecosystem grows in popularity, advertisers are becoming more interested in advertising within it. According to Accenture, the global gaming industry will exceed $300 billion by 2021, surpassing the combined markets for movies and music.

Metaverse has also seen massive growth in popularity over the last two years. As brands increasingly use metaverse to woo GenZ, and Facebook has rebranded itself as Meta, Bloomberg estimates the metaverse will be worth $800 billion by 2024.
