Girlyapa & UNgender create awareness about gender equality at workplaces
International Women’s Day is celebrated annually on March 8 and is considered to be a focal point in the women's rights movement. As women still continue to struggle against gender inequality on a global scale, TVF’s Girlyapa - started in 2015 for women-centric stories, in collaboration with UNgender has released a new sketch highlighting the issues that women predominantly face on a daily basis.
The sketch shows a meeting organized by the head of the company to address gender equality in the office. The meeting only consists of the male employees and the solutions shared to create gender parity were not only questionable but highly disrespectful for women. However by the end of the meeting, an employee takes the initiative to associate with UNgender; a company that builds inclusive workplaces for all genders through a process-driven approach.
On the partnership, Anandeshwar Dwivedi, Head, TVF Channels Network said, “In TVF, we have designed sketches highlighting various social issues. Considering that gender biasness is still an ongoing battle in our country, it was our social responsibility to illustrate the indomitable spirit of women. It was an honour to associate with UNgender for this project considering they are undoubtedly a driving force towards creating change in a world beyond gender parity.”
“The heaviness of workplace issues and gender based discrimination is a little too much for people, so with this collaboration we know we will get the spotlight just right....Nobody can do simplification of subtle and nuanced issues better than TVF & Girliyapa. We knew that a heavy subject like gender based discrimination and related laws will benefit immensely from their unique creative and magical approach”, says Pallavi Pareek, Founder, CEO of UNgender
The video has garnered over 60,000 views and has become one of the most influential videos created by TVF.
