Glenfiddich for the first time brings to India its VR distillery experience

Glenfiddich for the first time in India organized a virtual reality distillery tour event of "The Mavericks" which took place at The Westin, Gurgaon, Delhi.

The virtual reality tour is made by Happy Finish, a London-based production studio that has pulled off similar VR stints in India. The tour of the distillery takes whisky enthusiasts inside the famous Glenfiddich Dufftown distillery. The VR experience, called "Journey into the Mind of the Malt Master", is an ambitious project which immerses viewers, no matter where they are in the world, into the heart and soul of the Glenfiddich distillery, highlighting the mastery and craft of single malt whisky production.

Ashish Limaye, CEO, APAC, Happy Finish, remarked “The Glenfiddich virtual reality tour is an amazing way to show consumers the fabric of the brand. Story telling in VR can engulf enthusiasts in having an enjoyable and immersive experience, which in this case brings the fans into the distillery without being physically present there.”

Hosted by a charming Scottish guide and the iconic Glenfiddich stag which makes a memorable appearance or two, viewers are taken on a 360-degree journey that starts soaring above the Speyside countryside and are then plunged into the distillery. They are given a unique perspective from inside a mash tun with steaming copper pot sliding past, fermenters dropping down and thousands of casks in the warehouse surrounding them with a mild Matrix nod for the white background and overall visual resemblance.
