Godrej Consumer Products CEO and MD, Vivek Gambhir resigns

Vivek Gambhir, Managing Director and CEO of Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. (GCPL) resigned on Tuesday citing personal reasons. Gambhir’s last day at the company will be June 30. Nisaba Godrej, Executive Chairperson, will be taking charge as MD and CEO with effect from July 1, 2020.

Gambhir joined Godrej Group in August 2009, and was elevated as MD and CEO in July 2013. During his tenure, GCPL accelerated its diversification into emerging markets and acquired US-based brand ‘Strength of Nature’.

GCPL is an over USD 1.5 billion company having presence in over 90 countries. It has presence in the emerging markets of Asia, Africa, Latin America in home care, personal care, and hair care categories.
