Google may be working on an ‘Android answer’ to Apple’s find my network

Google issued the latest Play Service update, version 50.22, earlier this month. The latest Play Store upgrade has also recently begun to be rolled out by the tech behemoth. Both updates provide a slew of new features, such as support for digital car keys and an upgraded ID verification process. Recent adjustments to the Google Play Store and Services have also hinted that the tech giant is developing an Android equivalent of Apple’s Find My network.
Google is most certainly preparing to launch its own version of Apple’s Find My network, as references to it have been discovered in the most recent Google Play updates. Google Play’s most recent changes refers to an encrypted last-known-location report and a “privacy-centric architecture.” These allude to the business working on an Android-specific Find My Device network.
Similar to Apple’s Find My network, this network allows users to track their lost or stolen devices even if they aren’t Bluetooth- or Wi-Fi-enabled.
This network was first mentioned by Google in 2021. The network has not made any further progress since then.
Google Play Updates: Other Improvements
