Google simplifies Play Store policies for Gamified Loyalty Program

Google has announced that it is simplifying its Play Store policies on the gamified loyalty program to provide more clarity to game developers and help them design better games.

In a blog post, Suzanne Frey, Vice President, Product, Android Security and Privacy said, "App developers in India are actively building uniquely Indian features and services. One example is the use of mini-games, quizzes and other gamification techniques to delight users and convert them into loyal customers. These experiences are often launched during important festivals and sporting events, and getting it right within the specific time window is critically important".

According to the blog post, Google has updates its policy guidance on gamified loyalty programs based on a qualified monetary transaction in the app and other prizes or real-world value. Adding onto this, Google India also launched a web resource called How Google Play Works which will have a lot of useful information and best practices to enable developers to continue delivering innovative and secure apps and games. The repository also contains India specific details on programs that local developers can leverage for their success.
