Haier India goes green, enters new product categories!

Commencing the new year on a Green note, Haier, one of the largest Home Appliances & Consumer Electronics brands, worldwide and the global no.1 in refrigeration and laundry appliances today, announced the its green initiative "Eco Life" in India as a part of its global rebranding exercise aimed at designing smart products which not only meet customer needs but also adhere to environmental norms. The company also launched its latest eco friendly offerings which include refrigerators, Semi & Fully Automatic Washing Machines, Split and windows Air Conditioners, a wide range of LED & LCD TVs and the Spa range of water heaters.

The Haier brand also announced its entry into three new product categories in India viz. Laptops, Home Theatres and Cameras. The company also announced its renewed focus on the microwaves and dishwashers categories with new offerings. With these new initiatives, Haier India is targeting a turnover of over Rs 1700 crore in FY 2011 as against Rs 825 crore achieved in FY 2010 between January-December.

According to Eric Braganza, President, Haier India, "The year 2010 ended on a positive note for us with over 135% growth in the last year over 2009. As we move into the New Year and a new decade, our aim is to achieve business objectives as well as endeavor to become a better corporate citizen by offering our valued customers more energy-efficient and eco-friendly products. Besides our new branding focusing on our green initiative "Ecolife', we have also forayed into new and challenging product categories in the laptop, camera and home-theatre segments. With all these diverse initiatives, we are well poised to achieve our growth target of over 1700 crore in FY2011."

Haier under its Eco Life initiative not only develops more energy-efficient, state-of-the-art products but also encourages customers to live eco-conscious lifestyles. Haier laptops come equipped with several innovative features like 3G-ready, chocolate keyboard, HDMI interface, energy star rating -5.0 star, scalability, 120000 hrs of MTBF.

Looking at an aggressive multi-fold growth with an emphasis on technology, quality, innovation, value and services penetration, Haier is aggressively coming up with "Haier Experience Centers and Haier Experience Zones', across the country to establish a strong connect with the customers. The entire new range of Haier products will be available in retail outlets selling Haier products as well as Haier Experience Zones across the country. Haier has targeted 325 such stores across India, giving the customer an international shopping experience as they get an opportunity to see the complete range of Haier products. Haier also plans to strengthen its business through an aggressive sales channel expansion for its business and expand and consolidate its after-sales service network across the country.
