Haier retains its position as the world leader in major appliances in 2012

Haier, one of the largest Home Appliances & Consumer Electronics brand globally, has retained its world’s No.1* spot in major appliances. Euro Monitor International, the London-based market intelligence firm, providing market research, business intelligence reports, and data to industry, certified Haier as the numero uno position globally for the year 2012. Apart from the major appliances Haier bagged the top honours in the white goods category which involve refrigerators, washing machines, freezers and wine coolers.

Haier achieved this feat by commanding a whopping 8.6% of the total retail volume share globally in 2012 registering a growth of 0.8% from 7.8% of the total retail volume share in 2011.

Continuing its run at the number 1 spot, both as a brand and as a manufacturer in the refrigeration appliances, Haier increased its retail volume share to 14.8% and 16.6% respectively. Haier scripted another success story by being the World’s No.1 brand in Home Laundry appliances, grabbing an incredible retail volume share of 14.8% against 10.4% in 2011. It was for the first time that Haier bagged the top spot for manufacturer in Home Laundry Appliances with 12.2% retail volume share in 2012.

Haier dominated the Freezer market by bagging the No. 1 slot and an astounding 18.8% of the total market share against 16.7% in 2011. Haier also retained the top honours for Freezer manufacturer by grabbing 18.6% share of the total retail volume. The share of the total retail volume was recorded at 16.8% in 2011 thus marking a significant rise of 1.8%. Both as the no.1 brand & manufacturer of Wine cooler/ chillers, Haier continued to enjoy a major volume retail share of 15.3%, globally.
