HISTORY TV18, set to redefine Factual Entertainment with 'OMG! Yeh Mera India'

History TV18 has been at the forefront of entertainment, featuring some of the best clutter-breaking, global content and formats. Once again, HISTORY TV18 is all set to redefine Factual Entertainment with a one-of-its-kind local show ‘OMG! Yeh Mera India’.  The show will take audiences across the length and breadth of this great  country, showcasing ‘OMG’ facts about its people & places; all packaged into weekly half hour episodes hosted by well known actor and stand-up comedian Krushna Abhishek.

The treatment of the show would be entertaining as it would be refreshing. From showcasing the world’s biggest family in Mizoram to a ‘visa’ temple in Andhra Pradesh to a soldier who can perform difficult yoga-postures riding a moving motorcycle, every week Krushna Abhishek will take viewers on an unforgettable journey into an India that will make them go OMG.

Speaking on the occasion Sangeetha Aiyer, VP & Head Marketing, A+E Networks | TV18 said “Ever since our launch, we’ve pushed the envelope on all aspects to delight the viewer and I think ‘OMG! As part of the initiative, HISTORY TV18 also plans to create an engaging digital initiative to drive user-generated content on its social media ecosystem. The show will invite participation from viewers to share OMG stories from their neighbourhood, with the shortlisted stories being featured in the final episode. The core idea being to increase engagement and conversations among its social media community.

The channel has a rich tradition of featuring clutter breaking India based content. Its first production ‘Greatest Indian’, a vote-based initiative,  created enormous buzz drawing a record breaking two crore responses across India. Its second and third local productions ‘Bollywood@100’ and ‘Vital Stats of India’ won rave reviews from audiences and critics alike.
