Horror on Life OK unravels mysteries and mysticism

Going back a decade audiences were hooked to a string of horror and haunted stories and crime thrillers on Indian television. To mention a few Aahat, Zee Horror Show, Ssshhhh...Koi Hai among others were the hot favorites and preferred choice of viewers. Now in the recent past this genre has been revived by most channels in the television space.

With this genre picking up steam, Life OK too is all set to launch its first long story format horror show Ringa Ringa Roses - Khauff Begins. The show is about the journey of life and beyond -- a search for truth hidden in mysteries and mysticism. The story revolves around myths and paranoia, in a world where unseen dangers lurk and unknown monsters roam.

The new show will compete with other horror shows  during the same slot on different channels viz ‘Bhoot Aaya’ on Sony which airs every Sunday at 11 pm  and ‘Fear Files’ on ZEE TV which airs on Saturday and Sunday in the  10. 30 – 11.30 slot.

In conversation with Adgully, Pratik Seal, Marketing Head, Life OK, shared how the thought for this show originated. He said, "We realized that the horror genre is loyal audience based, post which we did Ek Thi Nayika, a 16 episode series. Hence, we thought of doing a long format show based on the horror genre."

Explaining how the title Ringa Ringa Roses - Khauff Begins fits well with the concept of the show Seal said, “ Rose refers to the lead antagonist named Rose in the show , and the theme song Ringa Ringa Roses has  been composed by Pune based rock band Agnee  and will be available as CRBT (Call Ring Back Tone) and ringtones."

Life OK recently launched the promo of the show which will soon be visible on other channels too. Experiential marketing too has been planned in a few cities as the launch date draws closer.

The channel has extensive out of home promotional plans. For this show the channel is targeting metros, like Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh besides their usual markets. Also as a part of their marketing activities the channel has tied up with UFO for promotions in cinema theaters across the country and is planning to associate with multiplexes too.

Seal further added, "We'll be using 360 degree marketing plans along with social media and digital platforms, right from posters to mobile to promos to create a buzz around the show." The channel’s other promotional activities include associating with Mumbai Railways and Delhi Metro to promote the show through their announcements.

Ringa Ringa Roses - Khauff Begins will be replacing Rakshak, the mini - series which will go off air from 24th November 2013.  The cast includes Sameer Soni as JD, Manoj Verma as Jaffer Bhai, Abigail Jain as Maria and Meghana Shroff as Aaliya.
A world in which no occurrence comes with a known explanation; JD (Sameer Soni) and his Team P.R.A.I.D (Paranormal Research And Investigation Department) fearlessly battle in the unknown territory of the dark forces to protect the innocent. The team embodies Jaffar - Research Specialist, Subbu - Data analyst and Maria - Intern. They operate by investigating cases involving supernatural or a paranormal incidents occurring in any part of the country. The battle becomes personal as JD's daughter is taken hostage by Rose, a paranormal entity and JD's nightmare becomes a reality.
"The differentiating factor of our show is that it's not only about horrifying incidents but also about an emotional connect between a father and a daughter," said Seal.

The show produced by Somersault Productions blurs the lines between the normal and the paranormal and brings the ‘Shadows of the Darkness terrifyingly to Reality'.

Life OK presents their horror flick Ringa Ringa Roses - Khauff Begins, to be aired every Saturday and Sunday at 11 pm starting 30th November 2013.
