How media Cos. are leveraging on 'Makar Sankranti' festival

Celebrating Makar Sankranti today, the harvest festival, the city horizon were teemed with colourful kites. Media houses understand that to be able to connect with their audience at a personal level, it is important to participate in these festivals at a one on one level. Also within the media organizations, it is crucial to motivate and support star casts especially when the work environment is highly pressurized.

This year, Radio stations have gone all out in celebrating this festival and reaching out to their audience.

Following are some of the media companies which have followed suit in celebrating this bright positive festival. RED FM, the most loved radio station is all geared up to celebrate Makar Sankranti amidst huge fanfare! This year RED FM is encouraging Mumbaikars to revel in the festivities along with their favourite RJs by participating in a thrilling kite flying competition 'Dheel De. Dheel De will see intense competition amongst Red FM RJs Malishka, Mantra, Rohini, Neeiland Rishi, each trying to outdo one another in the battle of ruling the skies. The listeners will be encouraged to support their favourite RJ and join their respective teams by participating in this exciting kite flying competition Dheel De today at Oberoi International School, Goregaon

In keeping with the tradition of this auspicious festival and having tied up with the upcoming film "Dil To Bachcha Hai Ji', even 92.7 BIG FM, India's No.1 FM Station Network celebrated this festival by flying one of the largest kites which was 10 feet high with the star-cast of the film.

For Makarsakranti, Radio City 91.1 FM in Maharashtra went to housing societies with RJ's and gave Til-Gud to the families as a Sakrant ritual.

While in Gujarat, Undhiya Party has been arranged for people. Undhiya is a famous gujarati dish eaten in winters and Sakrant. Radio City RJ's will also be going to various societies to fly kites with the people. Special Radio City 91.1 FM kites will be seen adorning the skies of Gujarat and Maharashtra.

SAB TV, India's leading family comedy entertainment channel celebrated "Makar Sankranti' with a big bang for the third time in a row. The entire cast of all the shows on SAB got together to celebrate this colorful festival with a lot of energy and excitement. The otherwise blue and bare sky was painted with vibrant and colourful kites flown by Swapnil Joshi, Ami Trivedi, Muskaan Mehaani, Varun Badola, Kavita Kaushik, Sumit Raghvan, Rohitash Gaur, and everyone else present who had a gala time at the celebrations.
