HR experts discuss the changing HR landscape

Top 150 Human Resources professionals and CEOs gathered at the Mumbai edition of the Hindustan Times Shine HR Conclave to discuss the changing HR landscape, talking about challenges such as recruitment, training, talent management, use of technology for better HR practices and capacity building. Organized by Shine.com and Hindustan Times, the Mumbai Conclave is a part of a series of events taking place across cities, providing a platform for HR Managers to convene and co-create solutions to industry issues.

The event started with the keynote by Y.K. Bhushan, leading HR expert renowned globally across academia and industry, which treated the audience to the rapidly changing landscape of HR in India. The academia view of pertaining industry issues was an interesting insight for the audience, and led to an interactive session, bringing up issues such as employer-branding, leadership, and on-boarding for new employees. The conversation was extremely insightful and set the tone for the day with high expectations.

Following the keynote speech, an insightful panel discussion, comprising HR leaders, such as Ms. Sangeeta Singh, Executive Director, KPMG, Ms. Padmini Misra, CPO & Global HR Head, Cox & Kings, Adil Malia, Group President HR, Essar, K.P. Suresh Kumar, Associate Vice President & Head Resource Management, L&T Infotech Ltd., and Binoj Vasu Group Executive Vice President & Chief Learning Officer - YES BANK, set minds thinking about current and future problem areas and opportunities for HR leaders. The topics discussed include current challenges in recruitment, training and talent management, capacity building, especially, vis-à-vis technology, and training HR teams on new resources.

There were also discussions around the broader change in the landscape of Indian HR, and best practices that would enable companies to smoothen the transition from current practices to more futuristic and sustainable policies. Another key topic was the role of HR leadership in shaping the industry at large. The discussion was moderated by Sandeep Bhushan, Vice President, HT Media Digital, who engaged the audience with an interesting round of Questions and Answers with the panel.
