#HTSalutes COVID-19 bravehearts in heartfelt film

There are several warriors in the frontline in the tough battle against the COVID-19 pandemic, who are fighting against all odds to treat those infected, to maintain law and order, to bring news from ground zero, to bring essentials to people’s doorsteps, to sanitise and keep cities clean. Every day, this huge force faces the risk of getting infected themselves and yet, they soldier on.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to the nation to applaud these warriors by clapping and banging on dishes for them on March 22 and then expressing solidarity by lighting 9 lamps for 9 minutes at 9 pm on April 5 was met with enthusiastic response from the people under lockdown.

Several organisations have come out to show their appreciation for these frontline warriors in various ways. Hindustan Times has released a short film as part of its #HTSalutes initiative that lauds the bravehearts and their undying spirit – be it doctors, policemen, shopkeepers, sanitation workers, journalists, and newspaper vendors, who are out there risking it all.

HT has urged the people to share this film with every braveheart that they know and let them know how grateful they are for their service to the nation. People have also been asked to share their pictures or videos saluting the COVID-19 warriors around them and get featured.

“Today, we know how to feel safe at home because some have chosen to step out,” says the film, which showcases vignettes of people safe in their homes with their families, even as doctors, the police force, shopkeepers, sanitation workers, journalists, newspaper vendors and more are out of home risking it all to serve the nation during the COVID-19 crisis.
