HUL appoints Dev Bajpai as Director on the company’s Board

Hindustan Unilever has appointed Dev Bajpai as Director on the Board of the company. The appointment has been approved by the Board of Directors of HUL. 

Bajpai was appointed as the Executive Director – Legal & Company Secretary and a member of the Management Committee of the company in May 2010. He took on the additional responsibility of Corporate Affairs function in 2012. He has been part of the Committees of apex industry organisations like Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci). He is also a member of the Board of Governors of the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI). 

Commenting on the appointment, Harish Manwani, Chairman, HUL, said, “Under Dev’s leadership of the legal function, the company has set new benchmarks on corporate governance and ethics. Dev has contributed significantly to industry-led efforts on matters requiring advocacy and legislative changes.” 

Bajpai is a fellow member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and has a law degree from University of Delhi. Prior to joining HUL, he has worked with Maruti Udyog, Marico, the Indian Hotels Company and ICICI Venture Funds Management Company.
