Hunt For India’s Best Pastry Chef’s Team Begins!!

Happiness is always a pastry away for all the bakers..! To be surrounded by innumerous creations of pastries and getting to learn more about it is like a dream come true for every pastry chef around the world. To provide a golden chance to every Pastry Chef in India, the Bakery Review magazine, the flagship bakery magazine from Hammer Publishers is all set to organize the 2nd edition of JUNIOR PASTRY INDIAN CUP 2018,in Mumbai. The competition is the Indian leg of qualifying rounds for Junior Pastry World Cup 2019 at SIGEP in Rimini, Italy, which is an International exhibition in which different cultures and food traditions meet and share and exchange projects. At SIGEP 2019 show, the Junior Pastry World Cup will take place with participants from 10 countries competing for the title.JUNIOR PASTRY INDIAN CUP 2018 are inviting registrations as Indian teams till 20th Sept 2018.

The Junior Pastry Indian Cup will see participants from various parts of the country to battle it out for the top prize as best junior pastry chef title in India. The event will be held at School for European Pastry (SEP), Andheri from 29th – 30th Sept 2018. All the participants must be between the age group of 18 to 22 yrs with Indian nationality and the team must include 2 competitors and 1 mentor.The Junior Pastry Indian Cup is co-hosted and facilitated by Bakery Review magazine, Epicure Frozen Food & Beverages Pvt. Ltd and School for European Pastry.

The Theme of the Competition this year is “FLYING”. The participants will undergo seven gruelling rounds which will showcase creations in the following category of Sugar Sculpture, Chocolate Sculpture, Individual Chocolate Bonbons, The Felchlin Chocolate Cake, Dessert on a Plate, Dessert in a Glass, Mini Pastries and more. The participants should be proficient in Sugar art, which includes, Boiling sugar, Casting sugar, Pulling Sugar and more. Mr. Sanjay Anand, Director, Hammer Publishers Pvt Ltd, the event organiser shares, “The objective  of the Junior Pastry Indian cup is to set up a training ground for large international events, while making it entertaining and showcasing the talents and future of younger generation pastry-chefs. Teams are encouraged to try new shapes, trace original lines and innovative decorative effects to give full rein to their imaginations, thinking outside of normal boundaries to create products of the required type”. As Chef VikasBagul, Director, School for European Pastry, opines “The time has come for our pastry chefs to showcase their skill at the international level. The Pastry Event will be Mentored & Supervised by Jury Committee which includes Chef Avijit Ghosh, & Chef Vikas Bagul. The Indian winning team (2 Contestant & Mentor) will represent India in Junior Pastry World Cup 2019 with anall-expenses paid trip for Airfare & Stay.
