"I am never going to say goodbye to television" says Manish Paul

One of the finest anchors on the small screen today Manish Paul  is all set to make his first debut in Bollywood with his upcoming film Mickey Virus. Manish Paul, who was till recently seen in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa will now soon make an appearance on the big screen and seen in theatres. Manish like most other aspiring newcomers in the entertainment industry landed in Mumbai in 2005 with hopes of becoming an actor. By proving his talent he has finally realized his dreams.

In an exclusive interaction with Adgully, Manish shared about his journey from being an anchor to his big  break as an actor and also briefed us about his upcoming film.
Briefing us about Mickey Virus, he said "This film is a story about a character called Mickey who hails from Malviya Nagar and is the best hacker in the world. One day he gets trapped while  hacking and  tries to get himself out of the situation. It's a comic thriller film."

When asked about the character that he is playing in the film, he said, "A lot of similarities exist between myself and the character of Mickey in the film. Co- incidentally  in real life my nickname too  is Mickey and I too hail from  from Malviya Nagar, Delhi. But one thing that differentiates us is that, the character  in Mickey Virus is very lazy where as I am a very restless person who is always  on the move and ready to work."

He regrets the fact that a day has only 24 hours and not 36-40 hours which would enable him to fit in more work. During the span of his journey of 10 years in the media industry  he has experienced, television, radio and film industry.

Recollecting his early days he said, "When I came to Mumbai I did not have a film related background. Since childhood I used to see big film hoardings in my hometown and today when I see one of my own, I am speechless as my dream has come true."

Not very tech savvy earlier, Manish  is glad that his  role of a hacker in the  film has given him  exposure to new gadgets and digital mediums.

On a concluding note he said, “This is a big step in my career.  Since I am good in comedy,  the different flavours of the film will enable audiences to change their  perceptions about me.” But was quick to add, “I will  never say goodbye to television."
