IBF joins case against Kantar Media

News is that the Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF) is the new player to have joined the case against the Kantar Media Research, in the New Delhi High Court.
Sources confirming the news have stated that the IBF has emphasised on the implementation of the concerns raised by the government regarding the media ratings systems earlier this year.

The case of Kantar Media Research pertaining to cross media holding in TV research agency TAM Media was heard on 11th July 2014, but was adjourned to 26th August 2014. The above mentioned matter was raised in the last hearing and the High Court will now take this into account in the next hearing. The hearing was adjourned after Justice Manmohan was informed that the new Government is yet to appoint an advocate who would argue on behalf of the Government.

With this adjournment announced, the stay on the clauses of the TV rating agency guidelines regarding cross-media ownership will continue to remain in effect, and TAM is said to continue functioning similarly until a final judgement is given.
