IBN18 Network & 'The Week' to launch 'The Big Naxal Poll'

CNN-IBN, IBN7 and IBN-Lokmat in partnership with The Week will attempt to understand the domestic threat of Naxalism in its 10th edition of its flagship opinion poll "State of the Nation'. This edition of the bi-annual opinion poll on "India's Warzone' will take a closer look at the lives of the people residing in Naxal affected areas and also look at presenting their take on Naxalism, violence and development.

Rajdeep Sardesai, Editor-in-Chief, IBN 18 Network, said, "In this edition of the State of the Nation Poll, we have tried to put forward the view of the Citizen on Naxalism. The poll tries to capture the true pulse of our nation from the worst hit states of India's war zone".

Conducted by the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS), the poll will represent over 3,700 respondents from more than 285 locations across the 7 Naxal affected states. The findings of the survey will be revealed through the week of Aug 9 - 15 on CNN-IBN, IBN7 & IBN-Lokmat and in the special edition of The Week that hits stands on Aug 13.

Philip Mathew, Managing Editor, The Week, said, "The issue of Naxalism is causing grave concern not only to authorities but also to the common man who seems to be the easy target. Our commitment to give space to the voices of all citizens finds expression in this poll of the citizens living in India's war zone."
