Illegal streaming of 2014 FIFA World Cup violates MSM exclusive rights

Sony Six, the sports arm of MSM is the official and authorized broadcaster of 2014 FIFA World Cup while LIVSports.in is its digital platform which holds exclusive rights to telecast and stream the on-going matches.

Of late the illegal live streaming of 2014 FIFA World Cup by several unauthorized websites has been a cause for concern and Multi Screen Media (MSM) Satellite Pvt. Ltd. has moved the Delhi High court in this matter.

MSM initiated this move and has appointed their legal adviser Advocate Saikrishna Rajagopal to present the case on their behalf. The matter which has been listed by the court will come up for further hearing today, June 23rd 2014 by a bench that includes Justice Siddharth Mridul and Justice Sunita Gupta. Interference from websites with the network’s exclusive rights has led the counsel to seek an early listing of the matter.
