India Digital Summit set to explore India's Internet Future

With 350 million internet subscribers expected by June 2015, India is fast becoming an internet economy to reckon with, globally. With e-commerce market pegged over INR 63,000 crore and Digital Payment over INR 120, 120 crore, the dynamics of internet in India is changing and evolving with every passing day. Add to it, the Government of India’s firm commitment to Digital India. With a background as strong as this, the forthcoming India Digital Summit, to be held over January 14 – 15, 2015, promises to be not only unique with its sessions but will also be both introspective and futuristic.

At this year’s India Digital Summit, the speaker line-up reveals presence of industry thought leaders. Amongst others, giving an insight on the industry will be people like Kirthiga Reddy of Facebook; Ajit Balakrishnan of Rediff.com; D Shivkumar of PepsiCo India; Rajesh Jain of netCore; Vineet Taneja of Micromax; Rajan Anandan of Google India. Adding perspective to the discussions will be policy makers like Shri. Srivatsa Krishna Secretary, Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka and Dr. Ajay Kumar IAS Joint Secretary, Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Information Technology & Communications.

To be held on January 14 – 15, 2015, at The Lalit, New Delhi, India Digital Summit is IAMAI’s flagship annual event and has achieved great success and popularity in last few years. The Summit, supported by  the Department of Information Technology is expected to be attended by more than 800 delegates over two days, representing CEOs and senior executives, brand managers, publishers, advertisers, marketers or business owners, government officials, NGOs and evangelists from across sectors.

Speaking about the 9th India Digital Summit, Rajan Anandan – Chairman, IAMAI & Managing Director, Google India said, “The Internet in India took more than a decade to move from 10 million to 100 million and 3 years from 100 to 200 million. However, it took only a year to move from 200 to 300 million users. Clearly, Internet is mainstream in India today. The forthcoming India Digital Summit will be the ideal stage to discuss the future of internet in India and how industry players can give it a growth fillip.”
