India Kids Fashion Week 2015 kick starts with a blend of style and adulation

Little kids upped the glam quotient on Saturday evening at The Lalit Hotel as the India Kids Fashion Week 2015 got off to an extraordinary start in Mumbai. Now in its third edition, the India Kids Fashion Week, a joint venture by Event Capital and Craftworld saw children emerge as stars of the evening as they walked the ramp with a chic sense of innocent style. It was indeed a treat to watch the adorable tiny tots strut around in trendy and colourful designer ensembles and edible organic make-up. The first day of IKFW witnessed glamorous creations by BIBA, Mimi and Maggie, Pink Cows by Pratima Anand, Sumit Das Gupta, Jabong and Kirti Rathore.

Day 1 of India Kids Fashion Week was filled with pulsating energy of young children along with great support from their parents, some fabulous creations by top designers and lots of love by the celebrities present there.

On this occasion, Manoj Mahla, Director of CraftWorld Events Pvt. The show started with Biba showcasing collection of their kids brand BIBA GIRLS. Their theme for IKFW was Magical Summer Collection. About the only thing that matches the magical quality of childhood is the summertime. The collection embodies finest colours of the season symbolizing a world in which everything is livelier and extraordinary. With fabrics, designs and motifs that live up to a girl’s imagination, it’s her perfect partner for summertime happiness. Ms. Rochele Rao walked the ramp for BIBA GIRLS.

Mimi & Maggie from Los Angeles, California offer clothes for "spirited girls". Mimi & Maggie strives to keep the “handmade” touch that adds individuality to each garment. Inspired by the little girl with laughter in her eyes, fire in her spirit, love in her heart and dance in her feet, Mimi and Maggie offer clothing that appeals to the child and adult alike. The modern Bohemian inspired look can fit every personality little girls "try on" this year!

Pink Cows showcased ‘I am Fabulous’ collection. Pinkcow focuses on story-telling through design as a celebration. They showcased 30 ways to celebrate, 30 ways to glorify. Love & folkloric charm defines their clothes because they believe every girl is fabulous. Every dress they design tells a story that reflects their elaborate clothing line - a cindrella remake, a new incarnation. Their brand excels in custom wear with a strong color & drape sensibility. Pinkcow envisions showcasing expert craftmanship, where each piece is couture-inspired and is hand crafted. Their gowns are more elaborate & more surreal. They strive to construct a garment with uncompromising attention to comfort. Mansi Scott walked the ramp for Pink Cows.

Sumit Das Gupta is a known fashion designer who has done many shows & fashion weeks like Signature Fashion Week, Blender’s Pride Fashion Week, Dehradun Fashion Week, World Gold Council Show, India International Jewelry Fashion week, India Jewelry Fashion Week, Rajasthan Fashion Week, India Lifestyle & Bridal Fashion Week to name a few. He showcased his autumn winter collection themed "Nari Shakti" - Nari is Nature, Love, Emotion, Creator, Power. With the collection showcase, he gave a social message for Women empowerment by supporting causes like ‘stop Female Foeticide’, encourage Female Child Education. Misti Mukherjee and Saloni Diani the child comedian, walked the ramp in his collection.

India’s biggest online fashion destination, Jabong.com presented the Spring Summer collections of its exclusive kids' brands Zucchini and Evolve. While Zucchini is all about trendy graphic tees, stylised bottomwear, printed dresses and smart shirts, Evolve showcases Indo-western wear and party dresses in bright hues.

With the official launch of its website Brown Bows made its debut into the world of boy’s fashion by showcasing its collection. Child actor, Shivansh Kotia of Yeh Risha Kya Kehlata hai fame walked the ramp for the brand which caters to boys aged 2 to 8 years. Brown Bows’ mascot- a mountain lion- that was unveiled at the event entertained the kids with its funny dance moves. Vidhi Sheth, the founder of Brown Bows, kept it simple yet classy by sticking to the spring, summer and winter collection for the boys with the theme Boys’ Day Out. Their collections included contemporary, fashion correct products and signature pieces that are a staple for every wardrobe. The brand embraces a youthful, infectious spirit and the freedom to express individual style. With clean and confident team, comfortable and accessible attire and classic and modern approach, Brown Bows is redefining Boys’ Fashion just for your young ones. 

Kirti Rathore presented an exquisite display of the culture of Rajasthan – The land of Kings, through her collection. Inspired by the colourful festivals of Rajasthan and the liveliness of the city, their collection spoke for opulence and style in unique sherwanis. Ejaz Khan walked as the showstopper for her show while, Vishal Singh was present as a guest.
