India News celebrates Women Achievers with 'BETIYAN'

Since time immemorial, women in India are worshipped in the form of goddesses, they are a part of our prayers, but the irony is that women are also the most ill-treated in our society. Social issues like dowry deaths, gender discrimination, and obsession for a son, child marriage, and illiteracy are still prevalent in our country at large.

But, in spite of all these challenges and hardships there are women who have proved their mettle. To showcase the struggle and achievement of these women who are now an inspiration to many, India News brings you a special half hour show, “Betiyan”. The show will talk about their success stories and what all went to accomplish their dreams.

This week, we feature Priyanka, a 23yrs old female wrestler from Meerut who not only conquered the wrestling ring but has emerged as a true champion in the battle of life. We highlight how this young girl fighting against all the adversities has won 53 national and international medals. She shares her story of struggle and her dream of winning medals at the Olympics and the Commonwealth games for India.

Rana Yashwant, Managing Editor, India News, said, “In spite of all the discriminatory practices and rooted societal norms against women, there are many women role models in our country.
