India's first MotoGP Team, WTR Ten10 Racing signs up with Percept Sport

In a clear sign that motorsports is growing, India's leading motorsports company Ten10 Racing has tied up with India's leading sports marketing agency, Percept Sport in a strategic tie up that will see the latter manage the team's sponsorship marketing and management as well as work with Ten10 Racing in exploiting their marketing rights.

With motorsports and MotoGP in particular growing at a rapid pace in the world's largest two wheeler market, the entry of Ten10 Racing will provide a major fillip to the sport and further help raise its profile.

"From multiple points of view, MotoGP represents a great way for Ten10 Racing to profile a young India that is rapidly making strides at the international level as a young and growing superpower. We are very single minded and passionate about our goals ' we are here to race and race hard and push ourselves to the limit.

In 18 year old Sarath Kumar who is one of the youngest riders on the grid we believe we have the sharpest and most promising young talent. Fact is from a perspective of racing, he can be called the (Valentino) Rossi of India or from another we can say he is the Tendulkar of Racing. We are eagerly awaiting our turn on the grid and are clear that we are not here to just make up the numbers but to be very competitive" said Ramji Govindarajan, Director Ten10 Racing and someone who has been diligently, both, pumping in his time and money into this venture.

"We at Percept Sports and Entertainment are delighted with the opportunity that our strategic marketing tie up with Ten10 Racing provides both sides. We would be taking care of the commercial exploitation of the rights and have long term plans for the same. With such a strong consumer base of young India espousing a go getter attitude, the platform of MotoGP quite literally represents a great sponsor vehicle to reach out to these consumers of the sport and potential consumers per se. Especially with the MotoGP officially coming to India in 2012, the coming year provides a great opportunity for the brand to grow with the team before they make their maiden home appearance" added Rukn Kizilbash, COO, Percept Sports and Entertainment.

Apart from the team, Percept Sports and Entertainment would also be managing the commercial rights of India's next big young talent, Sarath Kumar. Sarath believes that "This opportunity provided by Ten10 Racing has shown how dreams can come true for someone like me who has always dreamt about this. I intend to make my team and my country proud of us and can't wait to get onto the grid at Doha in March".

With a tie up with India's leading auto magazine, Overdrive, that will provide extensive support to the team through the year, this initiative seems all set to burn the tracks. "At Overdrive we have always endeavoured to bring the insights and the best of the Indian auto story. We strongly believe in the Indian motorsport dream and the adventure that comes with it. We wish Ten10 Racing the best in this new adventure of theirs and hope to ride the new waves they will see in 2011" said Sirish Chandran, Editor, Overdrive.

The greatest indicator of the passion that people have for MotoGP in india and the cult status enjoyed by Ten10 Racing is proven in the fact that since two weeks of the launch of the official fan page, the site already has 12,500 supporters and is only growing exponentially.

With both Percept and Ten10 Racing having extensive plans ranging from talent hunts, fan meet ups, experience the real biking for the serious fans, the stage is set for India's young and passion driven Ten10 Racing to put the pedal to the metal.

The action begins in March 2011.
