India Today Group CEO Ashish Bagga quits after 15 years

Ashish Bagga has put in his papers as Group CEO of India Today Group after a 15-year stint. A source close to the development has confirmed the development and added that an internal mail to the India Today Group employees informed about Bagga’s resignation. 

In an internal communiqué, India Today Group Chairman and Editor-in-Chief Aroon Purie informed the staff that in the transition period, all of Bagga’s direct reportees will jointly report to Kalli Purie and Dinesh Bhatia, everything else will remain unchanged.

Bagga had been leading India Today’s diverse offerings, which include the digital business, education, e-commerce, etc. Prior to being handed the charge of Group CEO, Bagga was Additional Director of TV Today Network. 

He has earlier worked with cable & satellite venture IV Communications, Hindustan Times Group, and Financial Times, London. 

In November 2016, Bagga was elected President of News Broadcasters Association (NBA). He had also been the President of Indian Newspaper Society (INS) and the Association of Indian Magazines (AIM).
