India TV files suit against ex-Anchor for joining Republic Bharat

India TV management has filed a 20 million suit on Anchor Sucherita Kukreti. Kukreti who has been associated with India TV for 14 years has joined Republic Bharat that will begin airing this Saturday. The news channel approached the Delhi High Court on January 25 and demanded that the anchor be prevented from joining their competitor. As of now, The High Court has dismissed the demand claiming it curtails an individual’s freedom. The next hearing is on July 11.
