Indian Express launches Express Parenting

The Indian Express Group has launched Express Parenting, a dedicated section on indianexpress.com to help parents navigate the whys and hows of modern families. It will act as a credible companion and guide on everything related to parenting.

The content has been comprehensively divided into categories such as ‘Food’, ‘Health and Fitness’, ‘Learning’, ‘Family’, ‘Things to do’ and Blogs.

Express Parenting will tackle the hard questions, such as how to talk about sexual abuse and gender with your children, and look at the softer side from crafts to short stories. It will have child-friendly tech advice, ways to explore your city and how to enjoy your surroundings with your little ones. The platform will provide a voice to pediatricians, nutritionists, chefs, educationists and urban parents to create a nurturing online community. Our growing team of contributors includes academic Shyama Chona, bestselling mythology-fiction writer Kavita Kane and NGO Protsahan founder Sonal Kapoor.

Express Parenting is headed by Anuradha Varma, an experienced journalist with over two decades in leading media houses and a specialization in the lifestyle and features domain.

"Parenting is perhaps the most important thing that any of us do. A digital experience in this vertical requires trust, expertise and open-ness, all of which are key Indian Express values. We are delighted to begin this two-way experience today," said Durga Raghunath, CEO Indian Express Digital.

The site has an easy-to-use, mobile friendly design that puts the focus clearly on users and stories. The initial response to the beta site has been extremely positive, with an average time spent of 3 minutes and an average of 3 pages per session.
