Indikaleido promises the celebration of music, dance & art

In an honest attempt to give back to the city and its people an opportunity to experience the rich culture of our country, DDB Mudramax along with the Horniman Circle Garden Trust are launching Indikaleido 2012, the art & music festival next weekend. Being their own property they  intend making it a calendar event in the city.

Indikaleido is one of its kind festival and scheduled to be held on 2nd, 3rd & 4th November 2012 at Horniman Circle Garden. This festival will encapsulate a variety of art and cultural programs. The idea is to provide a platform for well-known and upcoming talent to reach out to the city and showcase their work. Also, to contribute to the growth of the Gen Next by giving them an experience of our rich culture and an opportunity to participate actively in the festival vis-à-vis workshops specially designed for them.

Talking to Mandeep Malhotra, President DDB Mudramax, Adgully learnt a few insights about the festival.

When asked about the thought and motive, he said, “The core objective is to give Mumbai the city of music and art, an event that celebrates music, dance and art. It would be a lovely three day event full of fun and frolic with amazing dance performances. It’s the festive season so this is the best way to celebrate with everyone.”

Performances during the festival includes dance performance by  Prince dance troupe from Odisha, Bharatnatyam dance presentation by Pavitra Bhat & group, Neeraj Arya – Folk and Fusion vocalist , El Ferda - Algerian Sufi Group performance, Indian Ocean - the pioneers of fusion rock genre, fusion by Indian classical musician & santoor player - Rahul Sharma, renowned singer Indra Naik, Sitar player Ravi Chary, Indian tabla-maestro Fazal Qureshi, etc.

When asked how such initiatives would benefit the brand, Malhotra said, “It is a futuristic partnership in terms of bringing all the brands and people together at one place making it the most remembered and one of its kind initiatives. So this will obviously help the brand build more strong connect with the brands.”

Speaking about the partners and sponsors he told us that though the deals are still getting locked they presently have brands like Tata Housing, VW, Starbucks, Tata Sons to name a few.
As told by Malhotra there has been a lot of buzz on mediums like Television, OOH, Print and digital. He says, “We have been promoting it through all the mediums possible with lots of tweets etc.”

The Festival will have art installations from various artists from different art schools from different parts of the country. There will also be an exhibition/sale from 25 highly regarded NGOs showcasing their products. They specifically make candles, diyas, greetings cards in connection with the Diwali festival. Art, theatre & musical workshop for kids too will be the added attraction. Festival also includes Wildlife photography exhibit, GPO stamp exhibit, Gandhi charkha and an astronomical session for kids arranged by the Nehru planetarium. | By Aanchal Kohli [aanchal@adgully.com]
