Influencers Campaign on Mental Health During Stressful Times

The COVID-19 pandemic and the consequent lockdowns is leading to anxiety and depression amongst the people, be it older people, children, couples, single women, etc. With heightened anxiety, there is a feeling of impending doom and helplessness and hopelessness. To create awareness about stressful situation, Do Your Thng, a Creators first community rolled out a campaign involving the lifestyle micro influencers. This campaign was rolled out on May 1st, 2020.

With this campaign, micro influencers are asking people to focus on different things from dressing up to looking good to using the time productively, in such critical times. The objective of the campaign is to adopt new ways to keep people engaged and stress free during lockdown.

Some interesting posts include - Aakriti Bhatt, a travel creator recognised the importance and need of a campaign like this and said that it’s important to spread awareness on mental health, especially in times like these when community support is imperative.

Tushar Nandan, a food stylist opined that talking to your near ones always helps. He could not travel back home and is staying alone currently. “This time has taken a toll on me not just physically but also mentally.” I was happy to be associated with a campaign like this because it talks about a subject which must be addressed by everyone in the present times.

Ankit Agarwal, Founder, Do Your Thng says, “As India enters its fifth week of a nationwide COVID-19 lockdown, social media usage has increased by 44% as per The Broadcast Audience Research Council India and Nielsen India study. Moreover, today, it is important for everyone to understand the importance of mental health.”

He further added that “keeping this in mind, we rolled out #EndTheStigma campaign and asked influencers to reach out to their respective followers so that they can further reach out to more people making them aware of adopting different ways to keep themselves engaged and subsequently stress free.”
