Instagram's new feature, 'Montage' to mix stories into reels

As it works to counter TikTok's rise while also aligning with rising usage trends, Instagram is very keen to get people using Reels as much as possible.

The most recent development in this regard is a new ‘Montage' option, which allows users to convert their Instagram Stories frames into short Reels video clips and is currently being tested internally.
Though it's a little strange to see Instagram attempting to merge two functionalities on the one hand, while also attempting to discourage users from re-sharing regular feed posts to Stories on the other, the platform is still working on ways to prevent users from doing so.
