IRS 2017: Aaj Tak is the No.1 TV channel; India Today TV tops English news

The IRS 2017 data for TV was released yesterday (March 12, 2018) and as per the data, Hindi news channel Aaj Tak is the No.1 TV channel in the country, having more individuals than even the leading GEC, movie channel and sports channel. Meanwhile, India Today TV is the No.1 among English news channels. 

As per IRS 2017 (TG 12 years, Most Watched Channel) data, Aaj Tak has 0.3 crore more individuals (7.1 crore) as compared to the No.1 GEC Star Plus (6.9 crore). 

Aaj Tak has 4 crore more individuals as compared to the No.2 Hindi news channel ABP News, which stands at 3 crore. 

Aaj Tak has 3 crore more individuals (7 crore) as compared to the No.1 Movie channel Zee Cinema (4 crore). 

The Hindi news channel from the India Today Group also has also has 5 crore more individuals (7 crore) as compared to the No.1 Sports channel Star Sports 3 – Hindi (2 crore). 

Meanwhile, India Today TV is the leader among the English news channels garnering 551,000 individuals. It is followed by Times Now, which has 453,000 individuals; NDTV 24x7, which has 343,000 individuals; and CNN-IBN, which has 306,000 individuals.
