IRS Q4 2010 | Hindi dailies see growth, Gujarati and Bengali see decline

The IRS Q4 2010 results were declared on the 14th of March 2011. The results came in the form of an exciting announcement for the Hindi dailies. The Hindi daily category in all had a growth from a total readership of 135,555,000 to 136,121,000.

The number one in this category is Dainik Jagran with a slightly reduced total readership of 54,516,000, following it at number two is Hindustan with a total readership of 35,192,000. On the other hand Dainik Bhaskar the reigning No 2 Hindi daily of IRS 2010 Q3 is placed at number three this time with a total readership of 33,988,000. Amar Ujala is at number four with a reduced total readership of 29,613,000.

The Hindi daily category has done well in the state of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan.

On the other hand Telugu dailies have seen a increase in their readership by gaining 509,000 readers. The top three dailies in the category are Eenadu, Sakshi and Andhra Jyothi with a total readership of 14,769,000 , 13,474,000 and 5,406,000 respectively. | By Prabha Hegde [prabha(at)adgully.com]
