#ItsNotJustPink–Celebrating Women’s Day with Colors of Holi at MadHawks

This International Women’s Day, MadHawks a Digital Marketing Agency which celebrates a women leaders’ majority in the company, organised a campaign #ItsNotJustPink to spread awareness of discrimination against women based on their skin colour. This campaign was an extension of the last year’s Women’s Day campaign #MyBodyMyLove.

The latest campaign caught the attention of more than 100 female influencers, who shared their experiences about the subject. The week-long campaign surmised with the 19th episode of MadTalks falling just a day before International Women’s Day.

MadHawks, where 70% of the teams are led by women, invited three successful women leaders and entrepreneurs to share their views and ways of how they get through this in their professional and personal lives. The episode featured Richa and Nysha Joshi, social media celebrities and content creators, and Priyanka, founder and CEO of PureByPriyanka, a bootstrapped Ayurvedic skincare brand in India trailblazing the Indian skin and haircare market, as speakers. The episode was hosted by one of MadHawks trailblazers Sargun Goolry, Business Head MadHawks.

Ravi Kumar, Founder & CEO of MadHawks said, “At MadHawks we understand the role of women creators, managers, and leaders in shaping business growth and promoting women's empowerment not only through words but also through our team composition. Last year we collaborated with content creators from around the world to raise the issue of body shaming through the viral campaign #mybodymylove. This year we had the opportunity to celebrate International Women’s Day with the festival of colours – Holi and it allowed us to build on our message of seeking talent beyond the colour of one’s skin and style of clothing.”

“#ItsNotJustPink has been received well by our influencer community, especially the rising female stars and entrepreneurs,” Ravi said.

Priyanka Sarna, founder & CEO of PurebyPriyanka, shared her experience and optimism about the campaign, “Stereotyping at the workplace is a subtle but real hindrance to the growth of female talent and appreciation of their contributions. If only, employers and managers alike, look past their personal biases and look for the real talent despite the appearances, can they appreciate the value modern women bring to the table at work and home.”

Citing the campaign idea she added, “#ItsNotJustPink is such a grounded idea that world over Pink has been branded as a female favourite colour. Similarly, women are often labelled too emotional, bossy, or blunt professionally, and their talents are dismissed. Hopefully, with this viral episode of MadTalks, women will gain more confidence in walking in their personalities and will be accepted beyond the stereotypes in their professions.”

In the words of Nysha, a popular fashion influencer, “Black is the colour of choice for me, especially when it comes to clothing. It lifts my mood like a best friend regardless of the time and place.”

Richa, a lifestyle influencer and a foodie, on the other hand, expressed her choice of limitlessness with colours, “I have favourites based on the purpose, place and mood. I love the serenity of white, the calmness of green, the childlike wonder of pink, the royalty of purple, the loyalty of gold, the perseverance of silver, the wisdom of black and the depth of blue.”
