IVM Podcasts Commemorates 7 years of Great Audio

March 2022 marks the 7th anniversary of IVM Podcasts, India’s premiere podcast network. Incepted in 2015, as the only dedicated media & tech start-up focused on podcasts, IVM Podcasts had a lot to do with the true beginnings of podcasting in India, beyond ‘hobby’ led efforts. In fact, some of the longest-running homegrown podcasts in the country, Cyrus Says, The Habit Coach, Paisa Vaisa and Shunya One have come out of the IVM Podcasts studio.

In 2021, Indian podcasting has emerged as a highly effective and lucrative marketing tool for large companies, small brands, and entrepreneurs looking to grow their reach. It is today the only medium in India with regular 30 minute+ engagement and far superior completion rates compared to YouTube. It’s clear to everyone that podcasting now occupies a huge degree of the consumer mindshare, it’s a medium that brands need to now leverage to better get their message out to the right audiences.

The road to success hasn’t been smooth though, speaking on the last 7 years, Amit Doshi, Founder – IVM Podcasts said, “It has been a long and challenging journey for sure. There were definitely times during the last 7 years when we wondered if we would come out the other side in one piece. I’d say that of all the things that I've learned on this ride, patience has been the toughest and most enduring lesson of all.”

Kavita Rajwade, Co-Founder, IVM Podcasts added, “Over 7 years we’ve seen so many ups and downs that it’s now hard to be surprised by anything. While we saw immense success in our content, brought on great hosts, and were serving a hungry audience, it took us a long time to crack the monetization hurdle.”

In 2020, Pratilipi and IVM Podcasts joined forces to create a sustainable and scalable model for the podcasting industry in India. IVM Podcasts has since continued to create content under the Pratilipi banner, with an even larger and more diverse portfolio of podcasts across genres. Today, the brand boasts over 150 unique podcasts, across 8 languages with some of the biggest brands in the country featuring on their content including CRED, Intel, CoinSwitch, Bank of Baroda, CEAT, SBI, and Max Life Insurance to name a few.

The Bottomline is that podcasts are definitely here to stay, the industry is growing at a huge scale and IVM Podcasts is raring to go with plans for over xx shows in the next year!
