Jio's cheeky take on competition in the telecom sector this V-Day

Here’s a textbook example of how the telecom industry has evolved its products & services, tariffs and now digital marketing in the last 2 years, and twitteratis seem to be having a ball.

2017 – Proposal

Over the past two years, on the occasion of Valentine’s Day Jio showcases its ever-evolving relationship with its customers and the incumbents.

In 2017, the brand was in the midst of an ongoing telecom war, with competing operators over tariffs and customer acquisitions. Jio came out encouraging its rivals to forget everything and wished all of them a Happy Valentine's Day. The brand positioned itself as a friendly companion, out there to spread love. Airtel, Vodafone, and Idea acknowledged the love shared by Jio, and twitter had a meltdown.
