More than 1.5 million people visit this pandal every year to seek Bappa’s blessings in spite of the never ending queues.
On the auspicious day of Chaturthi this month, Lalbaugcha Raja arrived at His pandal amidst great fanfare, celebrations, dancing, chants of ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’, and singing of devotional songs and aartis. However, many are deprived of this festivity and the feeling of being in the gracious aura of the divine Lalbaugcha Raja.
Over 100 kilometres away from Mumbai, the residents of an old-age home, were disheartened for not being able to be a part of the grand celebration.
“We just thought of a simple idea. What if we bring Lalbaugcha Raja to those who cannot visit Him personally.’’ said Aditya Bhat, Head of Jio Studios.
‘’This thought was so simple yet so exciting that we got working on it immediately. And the results are absolutely thrilling. I am truly happy for what we have been able to achieve,’’ he added.
The whole Lalbaugcha Raja experience was assembled with love in a VR head set and taken to these people. The moment they put on the head set, Bappa’s mooshak in various forms and avatars guides them through the city leading to the pandal and finally to the much awaited darshan of Lalbaugcha Raja.
“Their overwhelming reactions and the sheer bliss on their faces were the true reward for us which was definitely worth all the effort.” said Aditya Bhat.
