Jon Graves Named Head of Global Event Sales for Bloomberg Media

Jon Graves has joined Bloomberg Media as its Global Head of Event Sales, according to Global Chief Revenue and Client Partnerships Officer Paul Caine and Head of U.S. Sales Keith Grossman.

Graves will oversee sponsorship sales for the Bloomberg LIVE events organization, which was relaunched in early 2015 under the leadership of Stephanie Mehta and Stacy Kennedy with the goal of convening fewer but more high-impact summits that fully leverage Bloomberg's multiple media platforms and global reach. Highlights of this year include the Bloomberg Markets Most Influential Summit on October 6th, which was produced on the same day in three cities (New York, London and Hong Kong). The Bloomberg Technology Conference in San Francisco on May 18th focused on the theme of "Code and the Corner Office" and featured news-making interviews with Yahoo!'s Marissa Mayer, then-Twitter CEO Dick Costolo and more than 30 technology leaders.

Graves, who will report to Grossman, is an accomplished senior events industry executive with more than 25 years of experience. He arrives at Bloomberg Media from re/code, where he was the Chief Revenue Officer, driving $7 million in its first year of operation.

Prior to re/code, Graves held a number of C-suite executive positions, including leading west coast events for The Economist. Previously, he served as CMP Media’s Vice President of Enterprise Events, Gartner Group’s Vice President of International Events (based in London), and CEO of Softworld US, the American division of the popular software trade show.

Graves will be based in San Francisco through the first half of 2016 and then move to New York City. He is a graduate of the University of Wales.

“Jon is the consummate international events sales person, known for applying great creativity and savvy with blue chip sponsors,” says Caine. “As Bloomberg LIVE builds on the success of its re-launch year, sponsors can look forward to working with Jon and his team for truly rewarding relationships.”
