Kamala Mills fire impedes Times Network channel broadcast, news channels back on air

The fire that broke out at a pub in Kamala Mills compound in Lower Parel last night (December 28, 2017) in Mumbai, has left at least 14 people dead and several injured. 

Along with nearby eating joints, the fire also spread to adjoining offices including the Times Network’s office, which is located in the Kamala Mills compound. In a press statement issued, Times Network stated, “The magnitude of the fire was huge, disrupting our operations temporarily. All our employees were evacuated safely.” 

Times Network’s News channels – Times Now, Times Now HD, ET Now and Mirror Now – are operational now. However, the English Entertainment Channels – Movies Now, Movies Now HD, MN+, MNX, MNX HD, Romedy Now, Romedy Now HD, and Zoom – are yet to resume operations at the time of filing this report. 

 

 

Meanwhile, police have registered a case of death due to negligence under Section 304 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the owner of the pub where the fire started and other sections include endangering life of others, causing hurt and common intention, because there were no safety equipment present at the time of the incident.
